In a country as remote as Nepal, being landlocked, the only sure/quick means of spare part & bike delivery is by air (rather than long overland freight from India) it takes a dedicated and persistent approach to get and maintain spare parts for our fleet of bikes and client repairs. HMB is dedicated to maintaining excellent bikes and current models, which is no easy task in Nepal.

HMB's safety record is 100% intact and given the remote and hash regions toured it shows a commitment to client safety, comfort and planning of contingencies. All tours are designed to provide the maximum possible safety and rescue services available. HMB staff is First Aid trained and has a comprehensive first aid kit on tour.

In the year 2000 Nepal will see the opening of several large 5-Star hotels open that are part of worldwide chains. I.e. Grand Hyatt, Le Meridian. Others like Radisson, Holiday Inn, Fulbari Resort and the Taj Group also operate in Nepal and HMB services each of these hotels with mountain biking packages.

Sizing a Bike
Making available a bike that fits you perfectly is HMB'S ultimate philosophy. It's tough to be ADVENTURIOUS or fanatical when you're uncomfortable, so we offer a full range of frame sizes to accommodate male and female riders from 4'10" to 6'6". Even if you are the same height as another rider, it doesn't mean your bike will be configured the same way. People vary in leg and torso proportions, and HMB'S range of some 60 plus bikes of varying geometry, frame sizes, and component options let you dial-in a comfortable fit, even if you have a gorilla's reach or flamingo legs. Many tours come with bikes so check out your best frame size options and advise us so we have your bike ready and wheels ready to spin. Need more details on your bike geometry?

How to Measure-Up
To determine the correct frame, stem, and crank size for your body proportions, calculate your inseam (clearance) and your arm length (reach) using the formulas below. Clearance dictates the appropriate frame size and crank length. Reach indicates which stem length and frame size will be the most comfortable. The ideal frame is the smallest one which will fit your measurements. A smaller frame weighs less and provides the most responsive ride proportionate to body size.

To Measure Clearance
Stand upright, with cycling shoes on, feet 6 inches apart. Hold a book loosely in your crotch so the book's spine is parallel to the floor. Measure the distance from the top edge of the book to the floor to determine your inseam length.

To Measure Reach
Grasp a pen upright in your closed fist and hold your arm straight out to the side parallel to the ground. Measure the distance from the pen to the front indentation of your shoulder joint to determine your arm length.
