Having operated since 1988 out of Nepal and the Himalayan regions, Himalayan Mountain Bikes is proud to celebrate more than a decade of offering some of the best mountain biking trails in the world. Our guests keep telling us we are the only complete mountain bike touring company in the region and we have even received recognition as Asia's leading mountain bike tour operator covering the breadth of the Himalaya's from Pakistan to Tibet, Bhutan and even onto Laos. Client testimonies and letters regularly comment that their tour "was the best ever MTB holiday and experience."

Himalayan Mountain Bikes was the first to offer biking tours in the Himalaya's out of Nepal and since 1988 have develeoped and web of trails and a knowledge of the region, second to none, That are reflected in a comprehensive array of tours that cater for the casual biker to the competition Mountain biker (see our 2000 Race Series details) Numerous travel guides & publications refer to HMB and major publications have been written by HMB, given their specialist knowledge of the Himalayan Regions. It is a big plus touring with a western Standard Company that operates directly from the region they tour in. Up to the minute appreciation of political & cultural affairs, local policies and developments, permits, visa's, resort developments and of course new trails make a BIG difference in the success of operating your tour.

HMB tours operate from the far northern reaches of the Pakistan Himalaya's in  Reshawar/Chitral and Gilgit to Ladakh (India). Tibet epic expeditions include Mt Kailash  and the region from Lhasa to Kathamndu via Everest Base Camp. Bhutan with it's rich and
rarely visited terrain, plus the lush jungle single tracks of Northern Thailand, right through  to the Golden Triangle region of Laos are offered in the HMB biking calender.

Associations

In 1996 the Nepal Mountain Biking Association (NMBA) was formed and our senior guides lead the thrust to get an association started and registered. This has lead to the sports further development both locally and internationally. It was HMB's staff that made up much of the committee and has held the chair in the past 4 years.

Since that time Nepal's mountain bikers have competed successfully internationally with some athletes now ride for a Pro-team in the USA UCI affiliation guidelines, rules and policies have been adopted by the NMBA.
