Mark Weichert

Mark: He grew up in Holland where he started cycling when he was 18 years old. Until 1995 he only participated in road races. After his time at school he visited the university of Stuttgart, so cycling was only the second most important thing. When he had finished his education he decided to try out as a professional mountain biker. From 1998 up to the end of 2000 he made a living only from cycling. When he did not succeed to be selected for the Olympics he decided to reduce cycling a bit and to get some practice in the profession he had studied. He is now partially cycling-pro, building-engineer and father. Also next year he would like to continue this lifestyle.
